Canto is a permissionless general-purpose blockchain running the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)

The Canto Bridge allows you to bridge assets to Canto from Ethereum or Cosmos Hub. It also supports bridging back to Ethereum.

Bridge to Canto

The [Canto Bridge](https://bridge.canto.io/) allows you to bridge assets to Canto from Ethereum or Cosmos Hub. It also supports bridging back to Ethereum.

## Ethereum <-> Canto

At present, the Ethereum <-> Canto bridge supports ETH, USDC, and USDT transfers.

### Ethereum -> Canto

To bridge assets from the Ethereum network to the Canto network, follow these steps:

Navigate to [bridge.canto.io](https://bridge.canto.io) and connect your MetaMask wallet, making sure you are on the Ethereum network.

Before bridging assets to Canto, you will be asked to generate a Canto public key, which is associated with your Ethereum address. You will only need to do this once per wallet. This is so you can sign Canto transactions from that Ethereum address. There is no interaction with private keys.

Select the token you would like to bridge and input the quantity. Quantities less than 1 must include a 0 in the ones place value (e.g. 0.99).

Confirm the approval transaction in your wallet to approve transfer of the asset to the bridge.
Sign the message in your wallet to confirm the transfer.

Assets bridged to Canto will arrive on the native Canto blockchain 96 ETH blocks (20 minutes) after the Ethereum transfer is confirmed. If you want to use the Canto Lending Market, Canto DEX, and other DApps, you must convert your assets to the Canto EVM.

## Canto -> Ethereum

Bridging from Canto to Ethereum is possible via Gravity Bridge. To bridge assets on Canto back to Ethereum, you must have:

An IBC wallet (such as Keplr Wallet)
An Ethereum wallet such as MetaMask

You can only bridge assets on the native Canto blockchain back to Ethereum. If your assets are on the Canto EVM, you must convert them first.

Once you are ready to bridge from Canto to Ethereum, follow these steps:

Navigate to [bridge.canto.io](https://bridge.canto.io) and connect your MetaMask wallet, making sure you are on the Canto network.

Select Canto as the from network and Gravity Bridge as the to network.

Select the token you wish to bridge and enter an amount.

Open your Keplr wallet and change the network to Gravity Bridge. Copy your Gravity Bridge address and paste it into the bridge interface:

Click send token and sign the transaction in MetaMask. After a few minutes, you should see the tokens in your Keplr wallet at the address you provided.

Once the tokens are in your Keplr wallet, bridge from Gravity Bridge to Ethereum using the Gravity Bridge portal.

>To bridge assets from Gravity Bridge to Ethereum, you no longer need $GRAV tokens to pay gas. Fees are paid in whatever token you are bridging. Select your fee option in the Gravity Bridge portal carefully, the 24 hour fee level for example will take about 24 hours.

## Cosmos Hub -> Canto

At present, the Cosmos Hub -> Canto bridge only supports $ATOM by means of IBC transfer.

Do not attempt to transfer $ATOM to the Canto address in your Keplr wallet. Follow the instructions below.

### Cosmos Hub -> Canto

To bridge $ATOM from the Cosmos Hub network to the Canto Network, follow these steps:

Navigate to  and connect your MetaMask wallet, making sure you are on the Ethereum network.

Before bridging assets to Canto, you will be asked to generate a Canto public key, which is associated with your Ethereum address. You will only need to do this once per wallet. This is so you can sign Cosmos transactions from that Ethereum address. There is no interaction with private keys.

Add the Canto network to your Keplr wallet.

Copy your Canto native address.

Make sure "Show Advanced IBC Transfers" option is toggled on in Keplr wallet settings.

 In Keplr, switch to the Cosmos Hub. Then click IBC Transfer.

Select “Canto Mainnet” as the destination chain. If bridging for the first time, add Canto by clicking "New IBC Transfer Channel", selecting Canto Mainnet and entering channel-358.

Enter the amount you want to transfer and complete the transaction. Your $ATOM should arrive after a few minutes.

Assets bridged to Canto will arrive on the native Canto blockchain.

## Gravity Bridge <-> Canto

This guide allows you to move ETH, USDC, and USDT from Canto to the Cosmos ecosystem and back using IBC, without having to send funds to Ethereum.

### Gravity Bridge -> Canto

Do not attempt to transfer Gravity tokens to the Canto address in your Keplr wallet. Follow the instructions below.

To bridge assets from Gravity Bridge to the Canto network, follow these steps:

Navigate to  and connect your MetaMask wallet

Copy your Canto native address by clicking on it

Navigate to [bridge.canto.io](https://bridge.canto.io) and connect your Keplr wallet

Select Gravity Bridge as the source chain and Canto as the destination.

Connect your Gravity Keplr wallet. Do not connect Keplr to Canto instead, click the lock icon under 'transfer address' and paste your Canto native address there.

Select the token you would like to bridge and input the quantity. Quantities less than 1 must include a 0 in the ones place value (e.g. 0.99).

Sign the message in your wallet to confirm the transfer.

Assets bridged to Canto will arrive on the native Canto blockchain within 60 seconds of the Gravity Bridge transaction being confirmed.

## Canto -> Gravity Bridge

You will need the following to bridge from Canto to Gravity Bridge

An IBC wallet (such as Keplr Wallet)

If your assets are on the Canto EVM, you must [convert them](https://canto.minipent.xyz/resources/convert) first.

Once you are ready to bridge from Canto to Gravity Bridge, follow these steps:

Navigate to [bridge.canto.io](https://bridge.canto.io) and connect your MetaMask wallet, making sure you are on the Canto network.

Select Canto as the from network and Gravity Bridge as the to network.

Select the token you wish to bridge and enter an amount.

Open your Keplr wallet and change the network to Gravity Bridge. Copy your Gravity Bridge address and paste it into the bridge interface:

Click send token and sign the transaction in MetaMask. After about a minute, you should see the tokens in your Keplr wallet at the address you provided.

Once the tokens are in your Keplr wallet, bridge from Gravity Bridge to any Cosmos ecosystem destination using the .


Bridging Assets

In exchange for locking up your tokens, you'll earn rewards in the form of additional $CANTO, as well as voting power for governance proposals.

Staked tokens are subject to a 21 day unbonding period. If you decide to unstake $CANTO, you will have to wait 21 days before it returns to your wallet.

Staking, also known as delegating, is the process of locking up your $CANTO tokens for a period of time to contribute to the security of the Canto network.

In exchange for locking up your tokens, you'll earn rewards in the form of additional $CANTO, as well as voting power for governance proposals.

### How to Stake
Follow these steps to stake your $CANTO:

1. Navigate to  and connect your wallet.
2. Click on the "all validators" tab to see a list of network validators:

3. After choosing a validator, click on the "manage" button next to that validator:

4. Enter the amount of $CANTO you would like to stake and click "delegate".
5. Confirm the transaction in your wallet.

### Claiming Rewards
1. Navigate to  and connect your wallet.
2. Click on "claim rewards" and confirm the transaction in your wallet.
Note: You must claim rewards separately for every validator you have delegated to.

### Re-Delegating
You may wish to move your stake between validators without subjecting yourself to the unbonding period. This can be done by re-delegating your stake:
1. Navigate to  and connect your wallet.
2. On the "staking" tab, click "view my delegations".
3. Click on the "manage" button next to your chosen delegation.
4. In the green box at the bottom of the pop-up, enter the amount of $CANTO you would like to re-delegate and select a new validator from the dropdown box.
5. Click on "re-delegate" and confirm the transaction in your wallet.
_You can only re-delegate from an account once every 21 days._

### How to Unstake
Follow these steps to unstake your $CANTO:
1. Navigate to  and connect your wallet.
2. On the "staking" tab, click "view my delegations".
3. Click on the "manage" button next to your chosen delegation.
4. Enter the amount of $CANTO you would like to stake and click "undelegate".
5. Confirm the transaction in your wallet.

When you unstake tokens, they will will be subject to a 21 day unbonding period. To see the progress of the unbonding period for an account, hover over the clock icon on the undelegations column.

Note: You can only have 7 concurrent undelegations at a time for each validator. In other words, you can unstake 7 times from a given validator within a 21 day period.

### Risks (Slashing)
Staking $CANTO is not without risk. By delegating tokens to a validator, you assume some responsibility for their behavior, proportionally to the size of your stake.

If a validator misbehaves, any tokens delegated to them will be slashed by:
-0.75% in the case of prolonged downtime
-4% in the case of consensus faults

Due to slashing, performing due diligence on validators before staking any tokens and splitting your stake across multiple validators is highly recommended.

Aside from slashing, staked tokens are subject to a 21 day unbonding period from the moment they are unstaked, as previously mentioned. During this time, you will not be able to access your tokens.

1. Total Supply Balance

3. Borrow Limit Meter

The borrow limit meter shows how much of your total borrow limit you are currently using. This limit is calculated by summing all of the supplied tokens, along with their individual collateral factors and converting into $NOTE. Beware of using more than 80% of your total borrow limit since going over may lead to liquidation.

The currently supplying row consists of the asset name, apy (top: supply apy, bottom: distribution apy), balance (top: token supplied, bottom: token supplied balance in $NOTE), and a collateral switch indicating if this asset is currently being used as collateral in the lending market.

The available supply table shows the markets you have not entered yet. Each row contains the asset name, supply APY, total wallet balance, and the collateral switch to indicate if this asset is used as collateral. (An asset that is not currently supplied may have this switch turned on if it is currently being borrowed, since any borrowed asset is automatically used as collateral)

The current borrowed assets are shown to see which markets you are currently borrowing from. Each row consists of the asset name, total borrow apy (accrued interest) on the asset, balance in terms of the token denomination and $NOTE, as well as the percentage of your total borrow limit that this market is using.

The available borrow table displays which assets are currently available to borrow. Each row contains the asset name, borrow APY, user wallet balance, and total liquidity in the pool in terms of $NOTE.

### Supplying Tokens

To supply an asset, click on a row in the available supply table and the supply modal will open.

In order to supply any asset, it must first be enabled by the market by clicking the enable button. Once approved, the asset is ready to be supplied. You can either manually type the amount of asset you wish to supply, or click the max button to supply your entire wallet balance of this asset.

Once a value is inputted, the modal will update with the hypothetical borrow limit as well as the hypothetical borrow limit used if this transaction were to be made. If you are ready to supply this asset, click the supply button and Metamask will open with the transaction ready to sign.

Click confirm in Metamask and the transaction will be validated. The modal will update with the transaction status letting you know when the supply has gone through. After the supply has been validated, you will receive cTokens in your Metamask wallet, the total of which depend on the exchange rate between the underlying asset and the cToken. These cTokens are used to track your total supply in the market and can be used to redeem your supply balance in the withdraw modal.

### Withdrawing Supply

If you wish to withdraw any of your supply balance, you can click on the currently supplying row and switch to the withdraw tab.

The withdraw tab will show how much of the asset you are currently supplying, and you can manually type in the amount desired to be withdrawn, in terms of the underlying token, or you can click the max button to withdraw your entire balance. (You will not be able to withdraw if the hypothetical borrow limit used will go over 100% as this will result in liquidation). The withdraw modal will also automatically update the hypothetical borrow limits as the value in the withdraw input changes.

Once you are ready to withdraw, click withdraw and Metamask will open with the transaction ready to be signed and verified. After the transaction is completed, you will see your cToken balance of this asset decrease and the underlying token balance increase by the amount you have requested to withdraw.

### Collateralizing

In order to borrow any asset from the lending market, you must collateralize your supply. The amount you can borrow is directly related to the collateral factor of each specific token and how much you have supplied in the market. To collateralize an asset, click on the collateral switch in the supply rows.

In this modal, you can click use 'asset' as collateral and the transaction will open up in Metamask. After the transaction has been verified, you will see the switch in the lending market flip.

### Decollateralizing

If you would like to decollateralize an asset, the same switch can be clicked and this modal will open:

In this modal, you can click disable 'asset' as collateral and the transaction will open in Metamask. This button will not be available if performing this action will put you above 80% of your borrow limit, since this may lead to liquidation.

### Borrowing
In order to borrow an asset, there must be enough supply in the lending market to borrow against. To borrow, click on the row in the available borrow table. This will open the borrow modal.

In this modal, you can type in a manual amount to borrow or click the 80% limit button to use 80% of your total borrow limit. More than this may be manually entered, but be careful of using too much of your borrow limit. As the value in the input changes, the hypothetical borrow limits are also updated to reflect your position if this transaction were made.

Once you are ready to borrow this asset, click borrow and the transaction will open up in Metamask to be signed and verified. (Note that any asset borrowed will automatically switch this asset to "collateralized")

### Repaying Borrows

To repay a borrowed asset, click on the currently borrowing row and switch to the repay tab.

In order to repay any asset, it must first be enabled by the market by clicking the enable button. Once approved, the asset is ready to be repaid. You can either manually type the amount of asset you wish to repay, or click the max button to repay your entire borrow balance of this asset (if you currently do not have enough to pay back the entire borrow balance, the max button will input your entire wallet balance instead).

Once a value is inputted, the hypothetical borrow limits will update and when you are ready to repay the borrowed asset, click repay. This will bring the transaction to metamask where it can be signed and verified. Once verified, the screen will update and your borrow balance will update accordingly

### Claim Rewards

After supplying assets, you will receive distribution apy. To claim these rewards click on claim rewards in the top right corner of the page.

The claim rewards modal will show how much Canto you have in your wallet, how much unclaimed Canto rewards you have, and the $Note value of these rewards. In order to claim these rewards, click claim and metamask will open with the claim rewards transaction.

>Disclaimer: These rewards are paid out in WCANTO, the wrapped ERC20 token with the same value as Canto. This token can be converted back to Canto native token.

 The Canto Lending Market allows you to supply and borrow assets, including LP tokens received from the Canto LP Interface.

The Canto LP Interface allows users to provide liquidity and receive LP tokens.

When users land on the site, they will see all available pools to provide liquidity for. To begin with, Canto will go live with 5 pools; Canto/Note, Canto/Eth, Canto/Atom, Note/USDC, and Note/USDT. In the table, the asset, TVL, current wallet's position and % share of the pool will be displayed.

### Add Liquidity

In order to add liquidity to the Canto LP Interface: 
1. Click on the pool that you are looking to add liquidity to. This will open the "Add Liquidity" modal:

2. If necessary, enable the tokens which you wish to add liquidity for on the Canto network.

3. After completing the enable transaction, enter how much liquidity you wish to provide, and click the "Add Liquidity" button.

4. You will then be shown the details around the transaction, such as the current exchange rate between the two tokens, the share of the pool you will own, and the amount of LP tokens you will receive. Once you are certain you wish to make this transaction, click "confirm".

5. Once the transaction is complete, you will see all the pools you are currently providing liquidity to under the "current position" section.

### Remove Liquidity
In order to remove liquidity from the Canto LP Interface: 

1. Select the pool from your current positions that you wish to remove liquidity from. Then select the remove button.

2. Enable the Canto network to remove liquidity for that specific pool.

3. Enter the percent of liquidity you wish to remove, and click the remove liquidity button.

4. You will then see details about the transaction. Once you are certain you want to make this transaction, press confirm.

5. Once the transaction is complete, you will see your current position in that pool updated.

This allows you to contribute to the blockchain and place votes on changes that will directly impact the Canto community.

The Canto governance page is a place where all users who have staked Canto can vote on proposals.

#### Proposals
When entering the governance page, a list of all completed and ongoing proposals are shown. The title of the proposal, start time, end time, and a bar representing the current votes is shown in each block. For more information on each proposal, click on the proposal and a modal will open.

In the proposal modal, you can see more in depth information about the proposal including the description, individual vote count, and thresholds for the proposal. If the vote has ended, you will not be able to vote, and the bottom of the modal will display voting has ended.

#### Voting
If the proposal is still ongoing, and you have staked canto at staking.canto.io, you are eligible to vote on the active proposal. You will see 4 options to choose from when voting, yes, no, veto, and abstain.

After selecting an option, you can click vote and metamask will open with the transaction to sign.

After signing the vote, you will see a success message and the screen will refresh with your new vote added to the proposal.
